As many of you know, last year I recorded and released a song about Human Trafficking early last year. The song is called Silence Is Shameful and My friend Dusty Jones – Film Saints Productions – helped me bring the song to life with a video Idea I had. He produced it really well and we all watched as thousands of people watched the video and emails flooded in from people who were moved by it. Check his other work out here:
The songs proceeds were to go and will continue to go to International Justic Mission and their continued effort to fight modern day slavery. After we released the video and song on Itunes, we received a number of emails from people wanting to find out more, get involved, and just thank us for creating the campaign.
One such email came a few weeks back from someone in the Seattle area. It was explained that my video had been watched by a group of people and pastors and at the time there wasn’t a lot of awareness about the subject of human trafficking. So the video sparked something, specifically in Lisa and David Mitts – pastors of One New Man Ministries. I was unaware of their ministry and Lisa’s music. After watching Silence Is Shameful, David and Lisa were connected with the Defender Orginization and have since started a Seattle Chapter. Here is Lisa’s music page :
